Day 2 - Day at Sea

Day 2 – Sea Day

Today marks our first sea day. All of us love the days at sea. It is fun to visit different ports, but even more fun to enjoy the ship activities, pool, and plain relaxing.

We started our day with the kids’ postcard exchange. Our DIS group had organized for participating kids to bring and exchange postcards from their hometown or state. It was wild watching 70 kids go round the circle and share their creative postcards.

Next was breakfast. We headed to Parrot Cay for their fabulous breakfast buffet. Ken and I love the omelets to order. Peter likes the many pastries and donuts. Kaleb enjoys something new each day. I missed the Art of the Appetizer class that I wanted to attend, but Ken and I were able to attend the one hour lecture by a 16 year Panama Canal veteran. It was informative and funny. While Kaleb and Peter enjoyed the kids’ clubs, Ken and I relaxed for the rest of the day.

Tonight was our first formal night. Peter and Kaleb looked fabulous in their suits. Kaleb looked all grown up in one of the Ken’s ties. Ken wore the tux he rented for the trip. It’s always an adventure to rent a tux and hope it fits. I wore my blue long dress and jacket. We had a wonderful time in Animator’s Palette. There was no light show, but it was cool anyway.

After dinner, the boys wanted to head back to their kids’ clubs. Ken and I headed to a stand up comedy routine (adult time . . . Yeah) by Rod Pearson. He was terribly funny. It was refreshing to hear a clean comic that was funny, too.

After the show, as we were heading to bed, we found a few late night buffets. This was something that Disney has really improved upon. There used to be a few cold munchies coming out of the adult clubs. Now, it’s quite a bit more food and spread out between different venues.

Off to bed to get enough rest for our non-excursion on Tuesday.

those boys' club must be something that they keep their interest. Hope you have been having some nice sun to enjoy. We had our first in house in service. Meet the teachers' night is tonight. So that's what is going on in this real world. Love, MOM
